The drive must carry a water hazard. From the middle of the tee to carry the hazard is approximately 165 yards. Placing the ball in the middle to the right side of the fairway will give you a good angle into the green.

With
a sharp dogleg right, this hole requires accuracy over distance off the tee. A
drive of approximately 220 yards will leave a mid to short iron into a long
green. If the flagstick is in the back, take one more club. The green has a
ridge running perpendicular through the green. The front of the green is open
accepting a low running shot.
This short par 3 has bunkers right, left and long. Generally, facing into the wind it may require one more club. The green slopes off to the right and the left, so aim for the middle of the green to assure a medium length putt to any hole location.
At 580 yards, this is the longest hole on the course. It requires 3 solid shots to reach the green. Aim the drive down the middle to right side of the fairway. It is important to aim the second shot down the left side of the fairway to stay away from the rows of pines and evergreens that line the right rough. A long green may require one more or one less club.
This is the longest par 3 at Mohawk. It is important to avoid the bunker short and right of the green. If you cannot fly the ball on the green, a ball short and left is your best position to make an up and down par. The green is fairly flat so be aggressive with your putt. A par will make up shots on the field.
A driver may not be the choice here. A dogleg to the left requires a precise drive. A 210 yard drive will leave approximately 140 yards to the green. You will be rewarded if you can drive the ball over the corner trees. This elevated green is hard to hold. Aim your shot to the green to the right of the left front bunker to maximize the depth of the green.
A slight dogleg right, this is the second short par 4 in a row. A driver may not be the choice here. A fairway bunker on the left side, approximately 225 yards from the tree, must be avoided. A slight fade will be perfect. If you hit a driver, avoid the right fairway bunker approximately 40 yards from the green.
This is an excellent chance for a birdie. This dogleg left requires a drive down the right side of the fairway while avoiding the two fairway bunkers. This will leave you with a great angle to attack the green with your second shot. If you cannot reach the green in two, leave yourself a 100 yard third shot by aiming down the tree line. The green sits at an angle from short right to left long. Avoiding the four bunkers will be a great benefit.
Into the prevailing wind, a solid tee shot is required to hit the green in two. You must hit over a water hazard that begins approximately 300 yards from the tee. The sprinkler heads will give you a yardage to the green and to the fairway. A sloping green from back to front requires a shot leaving you an uphill putt.
This begins the original nine holes at Mohawk designed by Donald Ross. With a green that slopes from right to left, a tee shot to the right will leave an almost impossible par.
A good drive will leave you near the bottom of a hill. Aim down the left side of the fairway on your second shot. Avoid the right side on your shot to the green. A ball going too far right will go down a severe slope with little chance of chipping to the green. The green slopes severely from back left to front right. It is a must to leave the ball below the hole.
Even though the yardage may not be intimidating, this hole can be dangerous. A fairway wood or long iron should be the choice here. The tee shot must be aimed in the middle or right side of the fairway. A tee shot of 200 yards will work nicely. The green slopes severely from back to front. Leaving an uphill putt is desirable.
A dogleg left. Aiming down the left side of the fairway will reduce the yardage of your second shot. The green is fairly flat and open in the front, allowing for a bump and run shot to the green.
The fairway ends and a ravine begins 100 yards from the green. The ravine must be carried to land the ball on a firm green. Out of bounds lingers over the green. A narrow creek lies at the bottom of the ravine. This is a hole that requires precision on all shots.
This short par 3 is a signature hole at Mohawk. Because it is slightly uphill and the prevailing wind is into the players face, the hole plays slightly longer than the yardage. The green is very sloping. The tee shot must carry to the middle to keep the ball on the green. This is a very fast green.
This is arguably the hardest hole at Mohawk. Another signature hole, it requires a tee shot down the middle to right side of the fairway to see around the dogleg left. If you cannot reach the green in two, you may choose to lay up to a comfortable distance for a chance at an up and down.
This is a slight dogleg to the right. Driving the ball over a small gully onto the plateau will leave a nice approach shot. On the tee shot, avoid the trees on the right. The second shot must carry onto the green to avoid rolling backwards down the slope. The green slopes severely from back to front. Keep the ball below the hole.
The dogleg left is a risk and reward hole. A long drove may allow you to go for the green in two or hit it to the plateau to the short right of the green. A water hazard down the left side comes into play approximately 150 yards from the green. A fairly flat green allows you to finish with a chance for a birdie.
